There has not been much said about the Konecny contract talks since the quotes about Fletcher and A.V. not happy Travis is not in camp.
Have talks stalled? Did those initial comments hinder or help?
Seemed like it all came as soon as the Proverov deal was done. Intentional?

I’m just happy to have some Flyers hockey to watch. Plus the top prospects line should be pretty amped up and a blast to see.

Is this game going to be blacked out locally too?

No... it's on NBCSP+ just as the Rookies Game was.

Wasn't the rookies game blacked out locally? Or does comcast always black out games unless you actually have xfinity tv? I always had xfinity but cut the cord somewhat (still have xfinity internet) when i found out that services like Fubo and Fubo have NBCSN and NBCSN+. However, even though the Fubo guide showed the rookie game, it was blacked out. If that is not an exception I may have to reluctantly sign back up for XfinityTV. Btw I live right accross the Betsy.

Fletcher and Guy apparently talked over the weekend. Doesn't sound like anything is imminent yet.

I thought Fletcher was pretty measured in what he said about Konecny, apart from being fairly specific (without going into numbers, of course) about the reason for the disconnect as he sees it. He basically just said that it doesn't help the team or Konecny himself for him to miss time in camp, but they'll have to work around it.

It's been AV who went in both barrels on TK after Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3, being increasingly caustic each passing day.

It was on NBCSP+, wasn't blacked out, but available via TV only. No streaming broadcasts.

My hope is Fletcher doesn't give in. Draw a line in the sand and don't move from it.

If TK doesn't want to meet the Flyers offer he can sit out a year.

Yeah, I’m starting to feel the same. If the player’s side is insisting on a long term deal only, that really makes things tough if the there is a large gap in the dollar amount.

I love TK, but there are some flaws to his game and he’s not an established star. He’s also a winger, and fwiw, most GMs don’t value wingers, other than stud 1st liners, as high as D or centers.

If there is a number that TK’s camp won’t budge from nor no willingness to take a short term deal, then Fletcher might have no choice but to walk away from the table and let him sit.

pretty sure all preseason games are televised. First time I've ever seen that.

BTW...that rookie line....wow.

yes, and I agree, the longer he sits the more of a negative impact i think it will have. It can also hurt if the outcome becomes a 1 year bridge contract and tk doesn't perform. There has to be some give and take. If you want long term security you are not going to sign for 7 mil per only playing a few years, which is what i feel he is asking for. If he signs a 6 year deal 5 mil is what i would be looking to pay. 3 year deal at 3 to 3.5 per. Prove your worth.

I can’t help but feel that TK has the wrong mindset here or is getting bad advice. He has a reputable agent; however, it doesn’t appear they are considering TK’s specific situation with the Flyers. This is bad for him. Bottom line they need to think of what is best for him.

AV was more concerned with the fact that he is not even in town and not seeing the drills or system that is being instilled. I understand his concern. TK is a good player. The Flyers need him working with the team but can’t/won't until a contract is worked out.

The two sides need to be open to options they weren’t open to before in order to get this impasse behind them and TK on the ice.

Set a hard date, after that time, he can earn his money overseas. AV refuses to be PC about, that's all. Going to wind up being like Nylander last year in TO - next to useless.

I don't really have an opinion on sides per se with TK and management because I don't know the ask/offer and without that info its really not possible for me to "take sides" but I will say this isn't good for TK or the Flyers.

Connor, Laine, Tkachuk, Boeser, Rantanen, Deangelo, Carlo, Point and of course TK...all RFA's coming off of ELCs all unsigned. I just see another lockout on the horizon.

I'm sorry but our bottom 6 lineup really worries me if we were to start the season with no TK/Patrick/Pitlick.

The sides need to compromise on something like a 5 x $5m deal for TK.

Morgan Frost is unavailable to play tonight. He is day to day with a lower body injury per Chuck Fletcher. Additionally, Gerry Fitzgerald and Egor Serdyuk are day to day with LBIs.
